What CatchON TV collects when you use this website, why each item is collected, who can see it and how long it is kept.
Last updated
The short version
We collect what you type into a form, plus ordinary technical details about the request that carried it. We use those to reply to you and to tell genuine customers apart from automated abuse. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this site, and we do not send marketing email. Everything you send goes to one internal mailbox and nowhere else. One third-party script does load on every page — the live-chat widget — and what it processes is set out below.
What we collect
Only what a form asks for. Across the three forms on this site, that is:
- Order form: full name, email address, WhatsApp or phone number, subscription length, number of connections, device type, the app or player you use, the countries whose channels you want, your adult-content preference, whether the line is new or a renewal, your previous username if it is a renewal, the MAC address if your device is a MAG box, and anything you write in the notes field.
- Free trial form: full name, email address, WhatsApp or phone number, device type, app or player, countries, adult-content preference, MAG MAC address where it applies, and your notes.
- Contact form: full name, email address, subject and message.
There is no payment form on this website and no card details are ever entered here. If you subscribe, payment is arranged separately after we reply to you.
Technical and anti-abuse data
Competitors and automated scripts submit fake orders and fake trial requests, which cost real time and take slots from real customers. So each submission is recorded with the ordinary technical context of the request that carried it:
- The IP address the request came from, read from the connection itself;
- The browser user-agent string, and the browser, version and operating system read from it;
- Whether the device is a desktop, phone, tablet or television;
- Your browser’s language preferences;
- The time zone your browser reports, and its offset from UTC;
- Screen and window size, and the device pixel ratio;
- The referring page, and which page of ours the form was sent from;
- The date and time, and a reference number generated for your request.
What we deliberately do not do: we do not fingerprint your browser. There is no canvas fingerprinting, no font enumeration, no WebGL probing and no attempt to build a persistent identifier for your device. Everything in the list above is either sent by your browser as part of any ordinary web request, or reported by the page about the window it is displayed in.
IP reputation checks
Where it is configured, the IP address may be checked against a third-party reputation service to establish whether it belongs to a VPN, a proxy, a hosting provider or an ordinary residential connection. Only the IP address is sent to that service, and only that classification comes back. It is a signal we weigh alongside everything else, not a verdict: using a VPN is entirely legitimate and is never on its own a reason to refuse an order. Where no reputation service is configured, no check is made and no data leaves our server.
Why we collect it
- To answer you. Your name, email and phone number are how we reply and how we send your account or trial details.
- To set up the right service. Device, app, countries, connections, adult-content preference and MAG MAC address all change how a line is configured.
- To prevent abuse. The technical context is used to identify automated submissions, duplicate trial requests and deliberately fake orders.
- To keep a record. The reference number lets both sides find a particular request later.
We do not use any of it for advertising, we do not build profiles, and we do not add you to a mailing list. The only email you receive from us is a reply to something you sent.
Who else sees it
Your form data goes to one internal mailbox. Beyond that, three processors are involved:
- Our email provider, which carries the message from this website to that mailbox and carries our reply back to you.
- Our hosting provider, whose servers run this website and process the request.
- Our live-chat provider (tawk.to), which provides the live-chat function on this site. The widget loads on every page, not only when you use it, and when it loads it may process technical, connection, session, cookie and similar data. If you do choose to chat, the messages and any details you send through it are processed as well. All of that is handled by tawk.to under their own privacy policy, and we use it for customer support, live chat and service communication only.
- An IP reputation provider, where one is configured, and only ever the IP address as described above.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data to anybody, for any purpose. We disclose it only where we are legally required to.
WhatsApp is worth naming separately: if you choose to message us there, that conversation happens on Meta’s platform and is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. We only ever see the messages you send us.
How long we keep it
We keep the least we can, for the shortest time that is useful:
- Contact messages: kept while the conversation is live and deleted within about 12 months of it ending.
- Free trial requests: kept for around 6 months, long enough to recognise repeat trial requests from the same person.
- Orders: kept for as long as the subscription runs plus a reasonable period afterwards for support and renewals — around 24 months — or longer where an accounting or legal obligation requires it.
- Anti-abuse data: kept with the submission it belongs to and deleted with it.
Ask us to delete your data sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
How it is protected
This website is served over HTTPS and form submissions are encrypted in transit. Email credentials and any third-party API keys live in server-side environment variables, are never included in anything sent to your browser, and are not stored in our source code repository. Forms are rate-limited and validated on the server, not only in the browser.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can say is that we hold as little as possible, in as few places as possible.
Cookies and local storage
This website sets no advertising cookies and runs no analytics tracker. It stores one thing in your browser’s local storage: your light, dark or automatic theme choice, so the site looks the way you left it. That value never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
The tawk.to live-chat widget is the exception. It loads on every page, and when it loads it may set its own cookies and process technical, connection and session data — whether or not you open the chat. Those cookies are theirs and their privacy policy governs them. We use the widget for customer support, live chat and service communication only.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to how we use it, or to have it sent to you in a portable form. We will honour a reasonable request whether or not the law in your country requires us to.
Write to vunotv.tv@gmail.com with enough detail for us to find your records — your request reference is the quickest route. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
This service is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anybody under 18. Adult categories are excluded from every line by default and are only ever added when somebody deliberately asks for them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes to how we handle data will be reflected here before they take effect. There is no archive of previous versions; the page as it stands is the policy that applies.
